About us
Since childhood, Guosheng has had a passion for travel and exploring different cultures. Wanting to make a meaningful impact with his time, he volunteered for several months at a youth development charity in Tanzania after a failed entrepreneurial endeavor. There, he conducted resume workshops at colleges and universities. Little did he know, this trip would forever alter his life!
Origin of "AUNUT"
Living with an incredible host family, Guosheng absorbed the rich culture, values, and language of Tanzania. He enjoyed exploring bustling markets with his Tanzanian mother on weekends, where he noticed that most local women wore "head-ties". This observation sparked the idea of creating beautiful "head-ties".
Through learning about the history of local "head-ties", Guosheng realized he could develop a line of fashionable printed Pre-tied Turbans. After completing his volunteer project, Guosheng returned to his city with his wife, Dou, and purchased a sewing machine and serger to start sewing. Initially, things didn't go smoothly as the Pre-tied Turbans didn't fit all customers due to varying head sizes. Guosheng then searched for better elastic fabric, but it took over 50 fabric suppliers to find one that met the requirements: excellent breathability, softness, no static, and consistent elasticity in all directions. Soon, AUNUT's first series was born!
However, the vibrant and colorful Pre-tied Turbans may not suit everyone's taste, so they decided to introduce a range of solid-colored turbans with optional African print fabric contrasts to create truly unique looks!

We also launched a series of male turbans, perfect gifts with stories to tell for loved ones.
We also utilize leftover fabric from production to make large and small intestines to minimize waste.
Exciting plans are in place for AUNUT's future, including establishing sewing academies and business centers to provide equal opportunities for women, empowering them to become successful entrepreneurs.

AUNUT's Ethical and Sustainable Clothing Values
Our original printed turbans provide employment and training opportunities for those in need. We encourage entrepreneurship by supporting tailors in starting and developing their own businesses, improving their livelihoods through job security and financial stability.
We demonstrate transparency by continually sharing behind-the-scenes insights with our customers on our blog and social media. We care about social, economic, and environmental aspects when conducting trade and have built long-term relationships with our supply chain based on trust and mutual respect.
The fair wages we pay to our tailors are agreed upon through ongoing dialogue and participation, openly and freely negotiated and unanimously agreed upon by all parties. We ensure that forced labor or child labor is not used in production; our tailors have complete control over their work and working hours.
AUNUT's tailors work in safe and healthy working environments that meet or exceed national and local laws. Our goal is zero waste, and we aim to recycle all fabric scraps after clothing production. Our policy is to minimize emissions wherever possible.
